Biomedical Engineering Specialities
Biomedical Instrumentation | Biocomputing | Biomaterials | Biomechanics | Biotechnology | and more!
The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BMEN) offers a unique undergraduate program that allows a student to major in Biomedical Engineering, minor in mathematics, and minor in an additional area of engineering, depending on the chosen track. Thus, a student graduating from the program will be well rounded and have the engineering skills and expertise to work in industry, hospitals, research institutions or become a motivated entrepreneur.
Biomedical engineers combine engineering principles with medicine and biology to design and create devices, processes, and software used in healthcare, to improve people's lives. Biomedical engineers work in R&D, manufacturing, testing, research facilities, and hospitals.
