UNT/TCOM 3+4 Pathway Program
UNT has partnered with UNT Health Sciences Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, TCOM, to offer an accelerated program where students can complete both their Bachelor's degree and Doctor of Osteopathic, D.O., Medical degree in 7 years.
Benefits
- Early Admission to Medical School
- Medical College Admissions Test, MCAT, is waived
- Coursework taken in the first year of medical school will reverse articulate and complete requirements in the Bachelor's degree
- Reduced costs associated with completion of an undergraduate degree
Eligibility Requirements
- Eligibility requirements for students who entered UNT as "First Time in College" students prior to Fall 2023.
- New eligibility requirements effective as of Fall 2023.
Under the 3+4 Pathway Program, an interview and offer of admission to TCOM is not guaranteed. If students are not selected for an interview and admission, they can apply for any medical school, including TCOM, during the following application cycle.

- Traditional: This timeline will show you an example of the 3+4 Pathway Program for traditional applicants, including the order of coursework and when to apply to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, TCOM.
- TAMS: This course plan will show you an example of the 3+4 Pathway Program for TAMS applicants, including the order of coursework and when to apply to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, TCOM. For this plan you must start with Calculus I, if you are starting with Pre-Calculus please see a Health Professions Advisor to make your plan.
** ALL students MUST meet with a Health Professions Advisor in order to be eligible for the 3+4 Pathway Program.

UNT/UNTHSC College of Pharmacy Reverse Articulation Agreement
In December 2020, UNT partnered with UNTHSC College of Pharmacy to award students a Bachelor of Arts in Biology using coursework successfully completed in the first year of pharmacy college.
Benefits
- Reduced costs associated with completion of an undergraduate degree
- Better preparation for a rigorous pharmacy curriculum compared to only taking pharmacy prerequisites
- Eligibility for dual degree programs offered at UNTHSC College of Pharmacy
BA Biology Degree Requirements fulfilled by Pharmacy Coursework
- 3 credit hours of Animal Physiology; does not include the required lab
- "7 Additional Advanced Hours of Biology" requirement
- General Electives needed to complete the 120 Minimum Hour requirement
- Advanced coursework, 3000/4000 level, needed to complete the 36 Advanced Hour requirement
- Any remaining hours needed to complete the College of Science Breadth requirement

Midland College Primary Care Pathway Program, PCPP
Midland College, the University of North Texas, and the University of North Texas Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, TCOM, have partnered to create a pipeline program for students interested in practicing rural medicine in Midland, Texas. Students accepted into this program will complete 2 years at Midland College, 1 year at UNT, and 4 years at UNTHSC - TCOM.
As of January 2021, Midland PCPP Students are eligible to complete their BA in Biology at UNT, using coursework earned during the first year of medical school. Once students successfully complete their first year at TCOM, the medical coursework can be reverse articulated back to UNT and complete degree requirements.
